She Recovers - Teaching Designation Program

Our SHE RECOVERS movement is growing.

We need more healers and teachers to help us reach more women. We are looking for passionate and inspired yoga teachers to share their knowledge and experience with our growing community.

SHE RECOVERS Yoga creator Taryn Strong will lead an immersive yoga training at Stowel Lake Farm on Salt Spring Island in October 2019. The training is a retreat experience taking place over three days with 22 classroom hours; participants will emerge with the necessary skills to become a certified SHE RECOVERS Yoga Teacher. Throughout the weekend you will be nourished with farm-to-table meals, yoga classes led by Taryn Strong and evening sharing circles.

You will gain the tools and knowledge to confidently hold space for transformation, teach trauma-informed yoga, and use safe and inviting language and cues paramount when teaching women in recovery. We will explore the similarities between yoga philosophy and the 12 steps, Ayurveda, chakra healing, neuroscience, meditation, breathwork; all this informed by our SHE RECOVERS Intentions & Guiding Principles (covering the many different pathways and patchworks of recovery). There will be opportunities for practice teaching over the weekend.

Hi! I’m Taryn. I am in recovery from substance use disorder, trauma, disordered eating, self- harm, codependency and all of the things that came with those things; shame, low self- worth, and low self- esteem. Today, I know, for a fact, that I have been through everything I have been through – every heartbreak, addiction, trauma, insecurity – to bring me to exactly where I am in this moment. I am the co-founder of SHE RECOVERS (with my mama, Dawn Nickel), a Trauma Informed Yoga instructor, dōTERRA Wellness Advocate and currently completing my Recovery Coach training. I have led over 20 yoga for recovery retreats, presented at several Yoga conferences, and have co-taught alongside Elena Brower. More recently, I’ve started teaching SHE RECOVERS Yoga at Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health and am creating a SHE RECOVERS Yoga Teacher Training Program. It is my honor, privilege and responsibility to do this work. Deep bow in gratitude.
