New Year’s Day Yoga

Description: Welcome in the New Year by practicing together. We will have time to reflect and step into the new year with intention and ease.

The class will be divided into three parts; the first part will flow through Tensegrity movements opening up the layers of the body with ease, then we will shift into sitting practice and breath work to touch in with stillness and then we will move through some more traditional asana shapes and sequences to joyfully energize our bodies.

Mixed level.

Come as you are. All are welcome.

Cost: $25 - $35 sliding scale

Liz Young

I have been practicing yoga for almost 30 years and since 2000, have been teaching yoga in one form or another. I weave yoga into my life at Stowel Lake Farm where I have been raising three children, participating in community and helping to run the farm business. I love the practice of yoga and blending traditional teachings with playful explorations and a curious mindset. My classes bloom from a practice rooted in the tradition of Vijnana yoga and the Tensegrity Repair Series and expand from there.

TEACHER TRAININGS:

1-month teacher training at the Vivekenanda Kendra Yoga Research Institute, Bangalore, India (2000)

The Ashtanga Primary Series Certification (2001)

Salt Spring Center of Yoga YTT, 200 hour (2002)

3-year, 800 hour Vijnana Yoga Teacher Training with Gioia Irwin who developed the Tensegrity Repair Series (2011-13)
