Garden to Kitchen Workshop - Summer Solstice

We invite you to come on a journey with us, as we wander through the gardens, fields and wild edges. Led by our senses, storytelling and garden wisdom, we begin to notice the patterns and elements of the season that teach us how to tend the land. We will gather and harvest, making our way to the kitchen to taste offerings of the season, talk about different ways to use them, and create something nourishing together.

Each 3-hour Workshop will Include

  • Garden Wander & Harvest

  • Exploration of Culinary & Medicinal Herbs

  • Sensory Meditation & Grounding Practice

  • Light Snacks & Seasonal Beverage

  • Cook-Time in Kitchen

Each workshop will highlight what is in season.

SUMMER SOLSTICE

At Summer Solstice the sun is strongest, the light is longest and the Earth is brimming with vitality and abundance. Berries and tomatoes are beginning to ripen, we are gathering in the first of the zucchinis and cucumbers, and the sweet aroma of basil wafts through the greenhouses. Bees and butterflies find their way to flowers in their full glory.

Join us for a Midsummer evening walk as the heat begins to wane, offering a time to connect with what is happening in the garden, what has been planted, what is being harvested and what can be forged on the wild edges.

Making our way back to the kitchen for a seasonal drink and snack, here we will share how to create from the season’s abundance and make something nourishing to take home. Possible creations include tea blends, vinegar, seasoned salt or tincture.
* Take-home creation will be seasonally centered with a GF/DF option
