A Catalyst for Transformation

Dedicate time to explore progressive ideas and embrace new ways of thinking. At your retreat, you will create meaningful moments and lasting commitments that propel your team forward.

Retreat Spaces

Retreat guests have access to the Gatehouse, the Barn, and the Village House. These three buildings provide space for meetings, presentations, and team bonding, as well as accommodation and dining. Our beautiful spaces are also suited for yoga and bodywork.

The hillside, gardens, and orchard are all available for wandering and pondering, as well as for team activities.

The Gatehouse

Within the Gatehouse building is a welcoming entrance, three bathrooms, two rooms for accommodation and our studio space. The Gatehouse is an inspiring space to hold a variety of wellness and other activities including group meetings, team building activities, yoga and meditation.

This building has high, curved ceilings, cherry wood floors and large windows that allow panoramic views of our farm and the natural environment. The space is warm, light and beautifully handcrafted by local woodworkers.

The Barn

The Barn building houses our custom kitchen and dining area. Renovations and structural upgrades, with a touch of creativity, have turned the 40 year old Barn into the beautiful space that it is today.

The upstairs is a spacious area for dining with tables and chairs and a cozy area with couches and a wood-burning stove. Perfect for meetings or more informal gatherings, the upstairs Barn also has a digital screen and projector for presentations or movie screenings.

The Village House

Surrounded by gardens, the Village House includes accommodation and the Marley Room, which is a quiet location for breakout activities, including bodywork and small-group meetings.

The accommodations are beautiful, cozy, quiet and rejuvenating. There are private and shared rooms, yurts, and camping sites available. The serenity of the farm invites you to disconnect, slow down, and re-charge. There is space for 33 people in our accommodations which include 17 rooms and 4 yurts (a total of 33 beds).

The Courtyard

In between the Barn and the Village House is the hub of your retreat. Our courtyard is where you can enjoy meals together outside, sit around a fire, and celebrate at our bar. This can also be a great spot for team breakouts and smaller discussions.

The Lake and

Sauna

Stowel Lake is a natural spring fed lake. It is a 10 minute walk from the retreat area. The lake is beautiful for swimming in the warmer months and cold immersion in the cooler months. The custom built cedar sauna is on the dock.

“Stowel Lake Farm provided the perfect atmosphere for our first-ever all-staff retreat. The bright light, big windows and sprawling views of the farm property were just what we needed to help us dream about our organization's future together.”

Regenerative Farming

Stowel Lake Farm has a thriving and productive organic market garden specializing in vegetables, fruit and herbs. Food and plants are grown with regenerative practices to increase organic matter in the soil, enhance biodiversity and restore ecosystems. Inspiration is drawn from the natural world, organic agriculture, as well as permaculture and bio-dynamic farming techniques. The farm team is excited to share more about the farming practices through interactive farm tours that can be provided during your stay.

Between the Gatehouse and the Barn there are well established and beautiful ornamental gardens. It is a perfect place to wander, stretch, or take a moment to sit outside. The gardens are large and can be a great place for group work, games, and drop-ins with colleagues.

Cuisine

Beautiful. Healthy. Delicious.

Farm-to-table Cuisine

Stowel Lake Farm retreat cuisine is farm-to-table at its very best. Meals are often harvested by our farm team just before preparation. Delicious and hearty food is a pillar of a Stowel Lake Farm retreat. This is made possible by an incredible farm and kitchen team.

Our kitchen is committed to serving healthy, balanced, and organic meals to guests. All meals are dairy and gluten free as these items are always served on the side to accommodate people’s needs. The meals are vegetable forward and vegetarian. Included in a 2 night stay is a salmon dinner. If groups are here for longer than 3 nights, we will serve another fish/meat dinner. Menu including more meat is an option with an added charge.

“You have been wonderful hosts and your entire team made us feel home from the beginning to the end. Everyone’s commitment and passion was present as you gently led us (your team and us) on a journey of purpose, collaboration and kindness.”

Stefan Kozak, CEO, Guayaki Sustainable Rainforest Products

Bookings for 2025 are now open.

“Last spring, my team held a 60 person event at Stowel Lake Farm with Indigenous elders, knowledge holders, land stewards and academic scholars over 3 days to explore the past, present and future of land stewardship in the Salish Sea. We required a venue and hosts that could create a beautiful, safe, trauma informed space for us to explore deeply challenging topics. Jennifer, Liz and team provided an exquisite sanctuary, nourishing food, and catered for all of our needs throughout the event with enormous generosity and reciprocity. Stowel Lake Farm has created a space for education, healing and regeneration supported by a team of passionate and joyful humans. There is simply no other place like it.”
